The Benedict Year › Reading Backwards from the Pascha

June · Weeks 35–38

The Spiral

The same texts, and the child is not the same reader.

The text at the centre: Luke 24, again

Why it is here

The last two branches fall on their own feasts: the Trinity, which arrives out of texts the child already has, and Corpus Christi. Then Luke 24 again, Genesis 1 and 22 again, the envelope sealed in September opened, and a plain account of what was left out and why. Round two hangs on a frame that now exists.
