Biblical reflections
Musings on Scripture
Occasional reflections on a passage of the Bible. They are a layman’s musings, food for thought and nothing more: not teaching, not the mind of the Church, not a homily, and not a substitute for your parish priest. Like the essays, each is written in the register of a writer I admire, and says so.

The Four Soils Are All Yours
The parable of the sower, read not as a sorting of people into four kinds but as a map of one life, in which the seed lands on every patch at once. Why a life is a web of arrows and not a line, why the harvest from a single good plot is out of all proportion to its size, and when the harvest actually comes.
These are personal reflections, offered as food for thought. They are not doctrine, not catechesis, and not statements on behalf of any tribunal, diocese or society I serve. Where they stray from the Church’s teaching, the Church is right and I am wrong.
